Gastronorm (gastronomic capacity)are food containers of a standardized size used for cooking, laying out, storing, transporting food products used in professional kitchens of restaurants, fast-food establishments, supermarkets.
For the convenience of using gastronorms in any kitchen, the manufacturers adopt uniform standard sizes suitable for all types of technological and commercial equipment: wind and roasting cupboards, refrigerators, showcases, marmites, etc.
The standard Gastronorm Container (GN) with the index 1/1 is accepted as the basis of the gastronomy, which corresponds to the ratio of the sizes 530х325 mm. All other dimensions are from GN 1/1. They can be as smaller (for example, GN 1/2 325x265, GN 2/3 - 354x325, GN 1/4 - 265x162), and more than that (GN 2/1 only - 650х530). The height is unified, and can be 10-200 mm with a certain pitch.
Gastronorms are used in public catering establishments for cooking, heating, storing products, as well as in stores for demonstrating ready meals.
Gastronorms comply with the European quality standard EN651-02, as well as the food safety standard UES UE 89/109, and, of course, are certified in Ukraine.
